Set up the Fair

When the truck delivers your Fair, it’s GO time. Watch our quick Set-up Video to get started.

Arrange your cases

You’re ready to roll! Organize your cases so they’re easy to navigate and fun to shop.

o

Before moving the cases into place, remove the boxes on top and set them aside for later.

o

Arrange the cases in a U shape from youngest to oldest. Grade levels and categories are listed on the side of each case. In a tight space? Organize cases in small clusters.

o

Raise case headers for shopper guidance and extra flair.

o

Hang directional signs to help shoppers find the books they’ll love.

Create tabletop displays

Tabletop book displays give kids more chances to find their new favorite read.

o

Place the tables near their corresponding cases, keeping books in the same category and grade level close together.

o

Display the books within kids’ reach. Use table signs and runners from your Set-up Kit to make sure books are easy to find.

o

Put empty boxes to work. Place them on tables to create a tiered display.

Prep your cashier’s table and Payment System

Help your checkout line move more quickly with a little advance prep and planning.

o

Set up your cashier’s table near the Fair’s exit to keep traffic flowing smoothly.

o

Stock your cash box with about $50 in change.

o

Print out a copy of your eWallet scan sheet to speed up checkout.

o

Connect the Payment System and run a few tests in training mode to make sure it’s running smoothly. Check out our Payment System Guide for a quick-start video and printable directions.

School supplies and posters are popular last-minute purchases. Make poster selection easy: Hang and number one of each behind the Register.

Send reminders

Book Fair week is busy! Remind everyone to make the most of all the Fair has to offer.

o

Send families to your school’s Fair homepage to set up their eWallet. Let them know about any special events you’ve scheduled for Fair week.

o

Remind teachers about their scheduled classroom visit.

o

Post Fair info on your school’s website and social media accounts.

o

Promote the Fair on your school’s marquee.

Use our ready-made resources to help you hype the Fair. Find letter templates, social posts, and other materials in our Promo Guide.

Remind families they can share their eWallet link. Contributing to a kid's eWallet lets faraway relatives and friends be part of the Book Fair.

Host previews, events, and activities

Draw more students, teachers, and families to the Book Fair when you host special events and activities.

o

Engage kids with book blurbs, games, and book trailers.

o

Give teachers a chance to make book recommendations, create their Teacher Wish Lists, and shop with their teacher coupons.

o

Set aside a time for families to come and experience the Fair with their kids.

Browse the Scholastic Dollars™ Catalog for prizes, giveaways, raffle kits, and other items to support your events.

Request a restock

Empty shelves mean books are selling, but order a restock if you really need it. Watch our learning video about restocks.

A restock request can be made after the Fair has been delivered.
